How to choose the right size of snowboard boots?

Choosing the correct size of snowboard boots is essential to ensure comfort and performance. Measure your feet accurately and use the size chart provided by the specific brand you intend to purchase. Snowboard boots may feel slightly tighter than regular shoes, but make sure your toes are not overly compressed, and you still have some room for movement.

How can I assess the stiffness of snowboard boots?

Snowboard boots come in various stiffness levels, ranging from soft to stiff. A soft boot is more forgiving and comfortable, suitable for beginners or freestyle riders, while a stiffer boot offers more responsiveness and precision, which is beneficial for advanced snowboarders and freeriders. Choose the stiffness based on your riding style and skill level.

How should I take care of my snowboard boots to prolong their lifespan?

To extend the lifespan of your snowboard boots, ensure you thoroughly dry them after each use, especially if they get wet. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and use mild soap if necessary. Avoid using heat sources such as heated boot dryers, as they can damage the materials.

Are there specific snowboard boots for different types of snowboarders?

Yes, there are snowboard boots designed for specific riding styles, such as freestyle, freeride, all-mountain, and backcountry. Each style demands different features in the boots. It's essential to choose boots that match your preferred style and the conditions you usually ride in.

Welke snowboard boots passen bij mij?

It is simply difficult online to decide which snowboard boots fit you. In our showroom we are always ready to help you find a good set of snowboard boots.

To begin with, there are of course differences between men snowboard boots & women snowboard boots.

In addition, there are the different types of closures. Think of the traditional lace closure, the increasingly popular snowboard shoe with a BOA closure (the dial), speed lace’s or a combination of these different closures.

Boots met een BOA sluiting

The single boa closure is super fast and easy to adjust. Even mid-run. With a simple twist it tightens quickly and you open your snowboard boots easily by pulling the BOA button. Buying new snowboard boots?

Boots met vetersluiting

Snowboard boots met vetersluiting are the most traditional snowboard boots. Since the moment there have been snowboard boots, the lace has been part of them. The advantage of laces is that you can very precisely determine the tightness of your boots. Laces are also relatively easy and cheap to replace when they wear out.

Boots met speedlace sluiting

The speedlace sluiting is basically nothing more than a cord that you pull tight like a lace and then hook behind a special closure. It is a handy way to close your entire shoe at once. Often these laces can be tightened per zone.

Combinatie sluitingen op je snowboard boots

Hybrid closures actually combine different closures into one complete closing system. Think of 2 Boas for different zones on the snowboard shoe, a combination of laces and a BOA closure as with VANS. There are also many combos with a Speedlace and BOA.

Flex in je snowboard boots

Roughly speaking, snowboard boots can be divided into three categories. Snowboard boots with a low flex, these are soft and forgiving snowboard boots. In addition, there are snowboard boots with a medium flex and stiff snowboard boots with a high flex. The latter type of boots is often favored by freeriders, carvers or people who want a lot of contact with their board. You can imagine that a stiff shoe with a flex of 7 or higher feels very direct and firm. Every movement you make is therefore transmitted directly to your snowboard. This is perfect if you are already advanced.

If you are a beginner or mainly looking for comfort, choose a softer shoe with a lower flex. This prevents every incorrect movement from being passed directly to your snowboard. A softer shoe can also be very handy if you spend a lot of time in the park and often have to land. This is simply less comfortable with a stiff shoe.

Welke maat snowboard boots?

Our experience shows that many snowboarders have snowboard boots that are too large. Boots that are too large feel great in the store but when you go boarding this quickly causes problems. We always start by measuring your feet. Measuring is knowing after all. As soon as you try on a snowboard boot your first impression will be that it is too small. You MUST feel the front as soon as you put the shoe on. Kick your heel on the ground so that your heel slides all the way to the back of the shoe. Close the shoe and stand in the same posture as you do on a snowboard. You will then immediately notice that your toe is free from the front. We have written an extensive article about this: how to fit snowboard boots.

Hoe strak moeten snowboard boots zitten?

Also suffering from cold toes or tingling feet while snowboarding? Often you have snowboard boots closed too tightly. This is again a consequence of boots that are too large. While snowboarding you want your feet to stay fixed in your boots and not slide. This affects control. If your boots are too large you tend to tighten them so you don't slide. This changes the fit of the shoe, creating pressure points that impede blood circulation.

Een bekend boots merk

Did you know that VANS was one of the first brands to make snowboard boots? The boots from VANS are full of technical features which make them very popular. For example, there is 'Popcush' in the heels of the sole. This provides extra cushioning after a hard landing. In addition, all VANS snowboard boots are equipped with a thermal inner lining that retains heat. This ensures that your toes stay nice and warm. VANS is also very good at making closures. The top models like the VANS Infuse and the VANS Invado have a hybrid closure. This means that the boost models are equipped with a BOA closure with traditional laces. This combination lets you close the boots perfectly.

Burton Snowboard schoen

If you have been snowboard for a while you obviously know the brand Burton. Besides good snowboards and bindings, the American brand also makes very good snowboard boots. For years the Burton Ruler and the BurtonPhoto BOA have been hugely popular. Especially the fit and the way the boots fit into their Burton bindings are loved.

ThirtyTwo snowboard boots

ThirtyTwo is an American brand completely focused on developing snowboard boots. What ThirtyTwo is known and praised for is the Long Lasting Fit. Don't expect the boots from this brand to fit perfectly right away. Come to our shop and have the ThirtyTwo boots heated so they mold to your feet. Prefer to order boots online? No problem. You get the same effect after a day or two of good boarding.

When you regularly watch snowboard films these snowboard boots often appear. Jeremy Jones and Scott Stevens, for example, ride ThirtyTwo boots. The models you often see are the ThirtyTwo Lashed and the TM-2.

Nidecker snowboard boots

Some time ago Nidecker took over the snowboard brand Flow. The names have remained the same, such as the Nidecker Tracer and the Helios. Nidecker boots of course fit well in any snowboard binding. The most perfect match with Flow bindings are boots from Nidecker. The shape of the snowboard shoe matches exactly with the binding of Flow.
