What is an all twin mountain snowboard?

As the name suggests, an all twin mountain snowboard is a board that performs well on almost the entire mountain. In most cases these boards have a Directional Twin shape. This means the shape of the board is the same at the front and back, but the bindings are placed slightly towards the rear. Placing them to the rear is also called setback. If, for example, there is a 2 cm setback, that means both bindings are placed 2 cm backwards. The nose, also called the tip, will automatically be slightly longer than the tail. This makes the board steer better and provides more lift in powder.

Different types of snowboards

All mountain snowboards often have a directional Twin shape. This means the shape of the board is the same on both sides and the bindings are placed slightly more towards the rear. Moving the bindings to the rear is also called setback. Still, not every all mountain board rides the same. Some all mountain boards are more freeride oriented while others are more freestyle oriented. You could say that most snowboards fall into the all mountain segment. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, an all mountain snowboard ensures you always have fun on the mountain.

Advantages of a allmountain snowboard

A allmountain snowboard offers numerous advantages for snowboarders who like to ride on different terrains and in varying conditions. With its versatile properties it is the ideal choice for snowboarders who want to explore the entire mountain.

One of the main advantages of a allmountain snowboard is versatility. These boards are designed to perform well both on the piste and off-piste. They can effortlessly glide over different snow conditions, including powder, ice and slush.

In short, a allmountain snowboard provides the flexibility to explore the whole mountain and adapts to different conditions, making it an excellent investment for snowboarders who enjoy variety and adventure on and off the slopes.

The best all mountain snowboards

It's hard to name the best all mountain twin snowboard. This, of course, depends on your level and riding style. However, every brand has a snowboard that is popular year after year such as the Jones Mountain Twin, Bataleon Goliath, Lib Tech Travis Rice Pro, Burton Custom and for the women Jones Twinsister, Burton Feelgood or the Bataleon Pushup.

Discovering the funpark with the board

A lap in the funpark works fine with an all mountain board. Switch landings are no problem. Most all mountain snowboards are slightly stiffer than a specific park snowboard. So if you regularly ride indoors or spend most of your time in a funpark, you might be better off choosing a freestyle snowboard / park snowboard.
