Buy Arbor snowboards

If there’s one brand that makes beautiful snowboards, it’s definitely Arbor. A Arbor snowboard not only looks great with its wooden topsheet, but its riding characteristics are also unparalleled! Arbor has been making boards in a traditional way with sustainable materials and construction methods since 1995.

What makes a Arbor snowboard so unique?

The unique feature of a Arbor snowboard is the topsheet. No Arbor board is the same. The brand was the first to replace the standard plastic top layer with a wooden veneer. Not only does this look cool, but it also enhances performance.

Arbor snowboards with PowerPly topsheets

The distinctive Powerply topsheets are made from a durable wooden or bamboo top layer. The natural grain provides the style for which Arbor is known. The function of the Powerply can be seen as an extra layer of fibreglass. Producing such a topsheet is a labor-intensive task, which makes Arbor so exclusive.

Arbor snowboards with a fast Sintered base

Arbor works with 3 types of bases. Their best and unfortunately also most expensive Sintered base snowboard provides unprecedented glide ability and a lot of wax retention. You can find this base on, for example, the Arbor Coda. Additionally, there’s the Crosslinked sintered base, which essentially combines the best of both worlds. It glides significantly better than a extruded base but is more durable and easier to repair than a Sintered base. Lastly, we have the extruded base which requires less maintenance and can withstand a lot of abuse. This last base can be found in the Arbor Element.

Arbor snowboards with camber

Also unique to Arbor snowboards is that most models come in two variants, namely a rocker and a camber variant. Arbor snowboards with camber have a longer effective edge for maximum edge grip and powerful edge transitions. Additionally, the camber profile provides more response and pop. In the areas where the heels and toes touch the edge, Arbor snowboards feature GripTech. This allows the boards to be steered easily and feels more natural. To ensure that Arbor boards do not catch at the tip and tail, there are Uprise Fenders installed. The edge is lifted off the ground, which decreases the chances of the board digging in and makes edge transitions feel more natural. The combination of GripTech, Uprise Fenders, and the camber profile is what Arbor calls The Camber System.

Arbor Snowboards with Rocker

In addition to Camber, almost every Arbor snowboard also has a rocker variant, also known as parabolic rocker by Arbor. The degree of rocker decreases towards the tip and tail. In general, rocker snowboards have less grip. This is because the effective edge is shorter. To compensate for this, Arbor snowboards have applied GripTech. In the areas where the heels and toes push on the edge, the edge runs slightly outward, resulting in four contact points for each edge. The combination of Rocker and GripTech is referred to by Arbor as The Rocker System.

Stiffer Arbor Snowboards through Carbon

Not all their boards contain carbon, but when they do, it can consist of 4 types, with a lot of carbon laid in a straight line or at an angle. This can lead to more liveliness, stiffness, or responsiveness in a snowboard. The carbon is always integrated in combination with a suitable wooden core. All types of wood used for this are FSC approved.

Arbor Element

The Arbor Element is the snowboard where it all started. The Element has long been the cornerstone of this beautiful brand and can genuinely be called one of the world's best all-mountain snowboard. The rocker combined with GripTech provides an incredibly comfortable feel without sacrificing grip and control. The Arbor Element pairs well with the Hemlock snowboard binding.

Arbor Coda

The Arbor Coda is a freeride snowboard that feels at home both on the piste and in the powder. The System Camber combines a parabolic camber with GripTech and upturned edges for maximum responsiveness, precision, and grip. The Coda has a Directional Twin shape which means that the nose is slightly longer than the tail, allowing for excellent switch riding. You don’t have to worry about not being the first one down the mountain. The board comes equipped with a super-fast sintered base.

Arbor Shiloh

In 2020, Arbor introduced the Shiloh for the first time. The Arbor Shiloh has exactly the same shape as its big brother Coda. The Shiloh is equipped with Biax fiberglass while the Coda has a core that is reinforced with a mix of biax and triax fibers. This makes the Shiloh just a bit milder and friendlier. The Shiloh should certainly not be underestimated! We believe this snowboard could grow to be one of the most popular Arbor snowboard in the collection.
