They have been doing all this together cheerfully in the Mervin factory since 1977, with a focus on climate. All boards are made with eco-friendly materials, and also, the snowboards are fully recyclable, making them almost the only snowboard brand in the world. In this factory, the Lib Tech and Roxy snowboard are also made.

Construction of a Gnu board
Within Gnu, they work with 3 different base shapes, and some boards are asymmetrical, aptly named "Asym".
- Original Banana shape
With rocker between your feet and a small camber outside your feet, this allows for a natural way of turning and provides good grip on the edge between your bindings. Additionally, the Rocker shape also provides a lot of float, giving you a surf feel on powder snow. The piece of camber outside the bindings adds pop and control.
- C2 “The perfect hybrid”
Designed for "normal snowboarding". This C2 shape has more camber outside the bindings than a Banana shape. This results in more precision, grip, pop, and control while riding. The piece of rocker between the bindings ensures a natural turning ability. This C2 also comes in a variant with more camber, the C2X, and a milder variant, the C2E.
- C3 “The world’s best camber”
Made for the real work. With the C3 camber shape, you have a small rocker between your feet. However, it has significantly more camber outside the bindings than a C2 or banana shape. Therefore, you have more grip, pop, and stability. If you are not afraid of a challenge, definitely take a look at the C3 boards from Gnu.
Asymmetrical Gnu snowboards
A long time ago, in a board meeting with many snowboarders present, it was established that every human body is different. What does this have to do with snowboarding? Well, your backside (heel) turn is different from your frontside (toe) turn. This relates to the pressure you can exert and how your body bends. The asymmetrical snowboards from Gnu therefore have a different radius on the backside than on the frontside. Each turn feels perfect with a Gnu Asym snowboard.
Gnu Snowboard Techniques
In addition to the shapes mentioned above and the asymmetrical concept, there are of course more beautiful pieces of technology in the snowboards from Gnu. One of the most well-known is, of course, Magna Traction; these serrated edge-like features provide more contact points with the snow, as many as 7 instead of the 2 you would expect from a traditional camber. This results in better grip on ice and hard-packed slopes and a greater sense of grip because the board makes contact at the bindings earlier. Gnu Essential Service
This season, the Gnu Mullair will no longer be part of the collection. Due to circumstances, Nicolas is no longer a team rider for the brand. The Mullair will from this season on be referred to as Gnu Essential Service. It is still a Freeride snowboard with a C3 camber and a tapered tail.
