Easy to use water-based product for waterproofing nubuck and suede footwear. Makes all mixed material footwear waterproof while preserving its structure and breathability.
Breathable, waterproof footwear is at the greatest risk of becoming sweaty and wet from the inside when used in moist or wet conditions. If the outer fabric or leather absorbs water, the breathable properties of the footwear will be compromised. Therefore, you must maintain the durable water repellent (DWR) of your footwear to keep comfort intact. This will eventually wear off and needs to be renewed with Nikwax Nubuck & Suede Proof™.
Your footwear can absorb water simply because it is dirty. First, try cleaning it with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™. If it is fairly new or has been recently waterproofed, the durable water repellent (DWR) will already be restored with a wash. But when the footwear is well-worn, you will need to add DWR using Nikwax Nubuck & Suede Proof™ after you have cleaned it first with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™.
Instructions for use:
Remove dirt with a brush or damp cloth, clean with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™.
Shake well before use. Press the tip into the sponge to break the seal.
Apply generously to wet footwear.
After 2-3 minutes, wipe off any excess product with a cloth and let it dry.
NB: Test first in an inconspicuous place. Waterproofing Wax for Leather™ makes nubuck smooth.
