Discover the new Nidecker Megalight
Let me take you on a ride through the DNA of the Nidecker Megalight, a snowboard that seriously raises the bar for freeride. Developed in the Swiss Alps, this board combines ultimate lightweight, direct response, and insane grip. Thanks to the Surfy CamRock shape, with extended rocker in the nose and camber under the bindings, you effortlessly float through deep powder and confidently tackle hard-packed pistes.
What makes this board truly special is the Mega-Core. This core combines poplar wood and paulownia and is reinforced with unidirectional fiberglass. The result? A powerful yet forgiving flex that retains energy and always gives it back. The nose of the board features forged carbon, also known as the Zero G Nose. This keeps the weight extremely low while maintaining stiffness and stability in technical descents or deep snow.
A smart addition is the Orbital Cushioning system, which surrounds the inserts. It dampens shocks and ensures that your legs tire less quickly, even after long days of shredding. Under your feet, Titanium Boosters provide direct energy transfer to the edges, giving you extra grip and precision, even on icy surfaces or steep couloirs.
The N-12000 base is a race-worthy sintered base with graphite. This allows you to maintain speed on flat sections and benefit from minimal friction. Even in technical descents, speed is preserved without having to work hard for it.
Another technical highlight is the 3DN-core. This core features 3D milling between the bindings, allowing for torsion tuning per foot zone. This means more control, smoother transitions, and a more direct feel with the ground. Combined with the Triax Plus fiberglass laminates, the board feels energetic and alert without becoming nervous.
In terms of Stance and shape, it’s also spot on. The Megalight is available in multiple sizes and has a taper of 14 mm, combined with up to 30 mm setback. This makes the board intuitive to steer and provides maximum float in powder without losing grip on hard sections. The flex is mid-stiff (4/5), making it perfect for advanced riders seeking power without rigid feedback.
What stands out to me personally is the versatility. You can carve at high speed, tackle pillow lines, and even ride playful lines in the woods. The board is super responsive, so you need to ride actively. But if you do, you get an endless amount in return.
As Arno says: the Nidecker Megalight 2026 is made for freeriders who are looking for that little bit extra. Light, fast, and incredibly strong without being bulky. One of the few boards that truly excels in multiple disciplines and invites you to take a step further each time. A freeride machine ready for any mountain.

Produced with carbon nanoparticles, the N 9000 has a very dense molecular structure, making it Nidecker's fastest, most durable base material.
This lightweight core with three different types of wood is a perfect combination of paulownia for lightness, poplar for pop and responsiveness, and hardwood beech along the edges to reinforce the core.
This triax laminate is the result of extensive testing with pro riders and engineers. It is laid at a 45-degree angle to the board and contains different glass densities. This ensures consistent torsional flex, better pop, and more responsiveness on every run.
Absorbnid is an innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. This allows us to develop responsive, dynamic boards that still provide you with a smooth ride without fatigue.
Freeride camrock increases the float and maintains the carving performance.
A directional shape provides improved performance and stability when riding in one direction, especially in freeriding and on powder snow.
