Discover the new Nidecker Megalight
Let me take you on a ride through the DNA of the Nidecker Megalight, a snowboard that truly raises the bar for freeride. Developed in the Swiss Alps, this board combines ultra-lightweight construction, immediate response and brutal grip. Thanks to the Surfy CamRock shape, with extended rocker in the nose and camber under the bindings, you float effortlessly through deep powder and carve hardened slopes with confidence.
What really makes this board special is the Mega-Core. This core blends poplar and paulownia wood and is reinforced with unidirectional fiberglass. The result? A powerful yet forgiving flex that stores energy and returns it consistently. The board's nose uses forged carbon, also called the Zero G Nose. This keeps the weight extremely low while retaining stiffness and stability on technical descents or in deep snow.
A clever addition is the Orbital Cushioning system surrounding the inserts. It soaks up impacts and helps reduce leg fatigue, even after long, hard days. Underfoot, Titanium Boosters deliver direct energy transfer to the edges, giving extra grip and precision, even on icy surfaces or steep couloirs.
The N-12000 base is a race-grade sintered sole with graphite. This preserves speed on flat sections and minimizes friction. Even during technical descents you keep your speed without having to fight for it.
Another technical highlight is the 3DN-core. This core features 3D milling between the bindings, tuning torsion per foot zone. That means more control, smoother transitions and a more direct connection to the snow. Combined with the Triax Plus fiberglass laminates, the board feels lively and alert without becoming nervous.
Stance and shape are well thought out. The Megalight is available in multiple sizes and has a 14 mm taper combined with up to 30 mm setback. This makes the board intuitive to steer and maximizes float in powder without losing grip on hardpack. The flex is mid-stiff (4/5), perfect for advanced riders who want power without rigid feedback.
What stands out to me personally is the versatility. You can carve at high speeds, hit pillow lines, and even ride playful lines through the trees. The board is super responsive, so it asks for active riding. But when you give it that, it rewards you endlessly.
As Arno I say: the Nidecker Megalight 2026 is built for freeriders looking for that little bit extra. Light, fast and ridiculously strong without feeling heavy. One of the few boards that really excels across disciplines and invites you to push further each time. A freeride machine ready for any mountain.

Produced with carbon nanoparticles, the N 9000 has a very dense molecular structure, making it Nidecker's fastest, most durable base material.
This light core with three different wood species is a perfect mix of paulownia for lightness, poplar for pop and responsiveness, and hardwood beech along the edges to reinforce the core
This triax laminate is the result of extensive testing with pro riders and engineers. It is laid at a 45 degree angle to the board and contains different glass densities. This ensures consistent torsional flex, better pop and more reactivity on every run
Absorbmid is an innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. This allows us to develop responsive, dynamic boards that still deliver a smooth ride without fatigue.
Freeride CamRock increases float and preserves carving performance
A directional shape provides improved performance and stability when riding in one direction, especially when freeriding and on powder snow.
