The Burton Step On® Genesis EST black is, in my opinion, one of the most progressive bindings Burton offers. If you love convenience but don't want to compromise on performance, this is the binding for you. The Step On® system lets you step into your bindings within seconds. No more fiddling with straps or freezing hands on the mountain — just click in and go.
What makes this Genesis EST special is the combination of Step On® convenience with the EST baseplate. This gives you an incredibly direct connection to your board and a natural flex that perfectly matches the shape of your Burton snowboard with The Channel. You’ll notice every movement being transferred instantly to your board, making these bindings ideal for riders who want to get the most out of their snowboard skills on any terrain.
The highback features the Kickback Hammock, a technology that comfortably wraps your heel while adding extra responsiveness. You’ll feel this especially in your turns, where you gain more control without feeling rigidly locked in. Burton designed this binding for all-mountain use, which means you can cruise through the park just as well as float through deep powder or tackle hard-packed slopes.
When it comes to comfort, the Genesis EST black delivers. The damping in the baseplate absorbs vibrations, which really makes a difference on long runs. At the same time the binding doesn’t feel overly stiff, preserving a surfy feel while providing enough response when you need it.
There is one important caveat: the EST version only works with Burton snowboards that use The Channel system. If you have that, you’re set. If not, there’s fortunately also a Re:Flex version of the Genesis available.
All in all, the Burton Step On® Genesis EST black is highly recommended for riders who want fast entry, maximum control, and place a high value on comfort. This is a binding built to last and elevate your snowboarding experience for years.
