Discover the Bataleon Etna HW
The Bataleon Etna HeelWrap™ is one of those rare bindings that hits the sweet spot between all-mountain versatility and Freestyle freedom. If you — like me — enjoy cruising groomers but aren’t afraid to hit the park line or throw a few tricks, this binding is pure gold. It feels stable, yet playful enough to keep experimenting.
The HeelWrap chassis is what truly sets this binding apart: it supports your heel firmly, delivers immediate response when you Carve, yet stays flexible enough for small tweaks and butters. Combined with the 3/4 Back Highback you get support where you need it, without getting in the way when you want to turn or move freely.
The Cradle ankle- and toe-straps are incredibly comfortable. Thanks to Auxetic Shape Technology they conform perfectly to your boots without annoying pressure points. That makes stepping in and clipping in feel very natural and keeps you comfortable all day long. The Kink Ladders also let you adjust the strapping: choose the higher position for more lock-in and stability, or the lower position for a more tweakable, stunt-friendly feel.
Durability is well covered: the Bulletproof buckles are made from strong aluminium and close quickly and reliably. The footbed is flat (0 degrees) with single-density foam, providing consistent cushioning and a solid connection to your board. Underfoot there is an EVA sub-base pad that filters vibrations so you experience less chatter on rough pistes.
Adjustments are smooth: you can tweak the baseplate so your boot sits perfectly centered in the binding, which improves board performance. The highback is also adjustable for forward lean, letting you fine-tune your ride for either aggressive or relaxed behavior.
Terrain-wise the Etna HeelWrap feels at home across the whole mountain. I’ve ridden it on groomers where it Carves effortlessly, and it also offers enough freedom in halfpipe-like situations to play. With a medium flex it doesn’t feel stiff, yet it’s not too soft either — you retain control.
In short: if you want a binding that doesn’t limit you to a single riding style but still delivers stability and comfort — without compromise — the Etna HeelWrap is, in my opinion, a top recommendation.
