Description

The powerful poppy contact maximizing “whale tail technology” maneuvers with agility in steep or tight technical terrain and hooks up solidly when things get tight and icy out there. Built in our ultralight SC construction with FSC certified aspen and paulownia core, this Orca moves well through gravitational forces. A rugged, fast sintered base, 3-D integrated tip inserts and updated Karakoram UltraClip 2.0 round out this whale of a split board.

Similar to C2, but with more rocker between the feet and a more aggressive camber under the feet. More float and ease of turning while still providing a snappy feel and sufficient edge grip. More pressure on the tip and tail means more stability, pop, and control.

CORE
- Splitboard Construction
Splitboard Construction is designed to go into the backcountry. This core had to be light and strong. The core consists of: 95% Paulownia and 5% Aspen. Two layers of tri-ax fiberglass with a basalt webbing provide torsional stiffness and damping for those moments when you're not in waist-deep powder. A core you can trust on the way down in varying terrain, but also light enough for touring.

- Basalt Fiberglass Combo
A fiber combination of basalt and fiberglass. The basalt provides absorption capacity and better damping. The fiberglass makes the board even livelier and provides the pop.
TOPSHEET
- Eco Sublimated Bio-Plastic Beans Top
Lib Tech aims to be the greenest snowboard brand on earth. Bio-plastic is made from castor beans, also known as wonder beans. This eco-friendly material is very light, scratch-resistant, and water- and snow-repellent.
BASE
- Sintered Knife Cut Base
This is the sintered base from Lib Tech. This base is fast, durable, and well-absorbing. Like other sintered base, the wax quickly penetrates here, improving your glide ability.
SIDEWALL & EDGES
- Magne-traction
Lib Tech is the inventor of Magne-Traction. Magne-Traction is a slight wave in the steel edge. Just like a serrated knife cutting through bread, Magne-Traction cuts into the snow. This gives the board extra grip in icy and hard conditions. When conditions soften, this can lead to a loss of speed.
- Birch Internal Sidewall
The internal sidewalls are reinforced with birch. This provides better response and more control. Additionally, it reduces the chance of a 'fatal' impact on your steel edge.
- UHMW Sintered Sidewall
Very strong, waterproof, and lightweight sidewall that flexes well with your board's flex. No environmentally unfriendly ABS!
- UHMW Tip/Tail Impact Deflection
It is mainly the tip and tail that incur damage during the use of your board. By using UHMWPE in the tip and tail, you prevent this damage and potential delamination. The steel edge of Lib Tech boards does not extend more than a few cm past the contact points.
SPLITBOARD TECH
- Karakoram Ultra Clips
This Ultra Clip provides an active connection between the board halves. A lightweight and strong clip, allowing you to no longer worry about rattling. Adjustable, so even after years of use, there is still compression.
