The Double Dip is Pete Saari's skate-minded resort freestyle board. The Double Dip is designed for people who love to hit all the jumps, side hits, and small tricks on the way down; this board feels good in every direction and condition. Take on all the rails and kickers, carve your way down, or surf through the powder, with this board everything feels good. This board rides 2-4 centimeters longer than you are used to.
Type: All-Mountain / Freestyle
Flex: 8 (out of 10)
Profile:
C2x
To give the all-terrain boards a perfectly balanced profile, Lib Tech developed the C2 in collaboration with Travis Rice. A mild rocker between your feet with a powerful camber at the tip and tail. Enough pop for the park, precision for the best lines, and float to go wild in the powder. The C2e variation makes the profile a bit more playful, and the C2x provides even more precision.
Shape:
Directional Twin
The combination of a true twin and a directional board. The flex pattern is kept symmetrical, but the shape is directional, which means that the board has a longer nose and a shorter tail. This shape gives you freestyle flex with better float and control due to its directional shape.
Core: 75% aspen / 25% paulownia
The OP core of Lib Tech mainly consists of aspen, which is a heavier type of wood; to make the snowboard light, there are 2 strips of paulownia wood in the core. Cedar has also been added to this specific core. This is a sustainable lightweight type of wood.
Glass: tri-ax / bi-ax glass
Top: eco sublimated polly top
Base: Sintered
A sintered base gives you the best glide ability. Having to take off your bindings or walk on a path will happen much less because this base just wants to keep going. The base consists of small plastic pellets that are pressed together, leaving air pockets where wax can settle. You will need to wax a sintered base more often because of this, but if you do it right, you will notice the difference! Especially in warmer conditions, you will keep gliding, while a extruded base creates a vacuum that slows it down.
Sidewalls: UHWM sintered / birch internal
UHWM is one of the strongest thermoplastic plastics available right now. This means you won't have to repair your board every time you hit a box, rail, or skis. On the inside of your sidewalls, there is a thin layer of birch; this type of wood is very strong and flexible, which helps your sidewall better distribute and absorb the force of an impact.
Edge: magne-traction
If you've ever ridden on ice, you know how quickly you can lose control. Magne-traction cuts through ice and hard snow with 7 wavy bumps. Simply put, your edge bites into the ice instead of slicing through it, just like a serrated knife does with bread. But on normal snow on the slope, it provides control and hold, giving you the confidence to maintain speed. You will especially feel this in turns where you apply force or while carving.
