The Box Scratcher is your all-resort play snowboard. With its forgiving banana shape and a slightly lower flex, it feels playful and allows you to tackle every side hit that comes your way. The board has plenty of pop, is great for jibbing, or is ideal for a beginner snowboarder. This is a super fun board for both beginners and advanced riders.
Type: Park / freestyle snowboard
Flex: 5 (out of 10)
Profile: BTX
Years ago, the experimental department of Lib Tech started the snowboard profile revolution by introducing the now legendary Skate Banana model with the Original Banana Technology. A mild rocker between your feet combined with mild cambers at the tip and tail. The easiest profile for beginners to make a lot of progress and have fun. Learn new tricks every day, enjoy jibbing, and keep floating in the powder with this banana.
Shape: True Twin
A true twin is perfectly symmetrical, so it doesn't matter whether you go down with your left foot or right foot forward; the board feels the same. In a True Twin, both the shape of the board and the core are the same. True Twin is perfect for people who ride a lot switch or do tricks that involve spinning, as the board feel remains consistent during landings.
Core: Original Power+ Construction
75% aspen / 25% paulownia The OP core of Lib Tech mainly consists of aspen, which is a heavier type of wood. To make the snowboard lighter, there are 2 strips of paulownia wood in the core.
Glass: tri-ax / bi-ax fiber
Top: eco sublimated poly top
Base: eco sublimated sintered
An eco sublimated sintered base gives you the best glide ability. Having to take off your bindings or walk on a path will happen much less because this base just wants to keep going. The base consists of small plastic pellets that are pressed together, leaving air pockets where wax can settle. You will need to wax an eco sublimated sintered base more often, but if you do it right, you'll notice the difference! Especially in warmer conditions, you'll keep gliding, while a extruded base creates a vacuum that slows it down. Eco sublimated is a very technical term but simply means that this base is made ecologically friendly.
Sidewalls: UHWM sintered / birch internal
UHWM is one of the strongest thermoplastic plastics available today. This ensures that you don't have to repair your board every time you hit a box, rail, or skis. On the inside of your sidewalls, there is a thin layer of birch; this type of wood is very strong and flexible, which helps your sidewall better distribute and absorb the force of an impact.
Edge: magne-traction
If you've ever ridden on ice, you know how quickly you can lose control. Magne-traction cuts through ice and hard snow with 7 wavy bumps. Simply put, your edge bites into the ice instead of slicing through it, just like a serrated knife does with bread. But on normal snow on the piste, it provides control and hold, giving you the confidence to maintain speed. You'll especially feel this in turns where you apply force or during carving.
