If freeriding, carving on the slopes, and occasionally hitting a nice jump is your thing, then you need to check out the Hyper. The board features a generous nose and playful hybrid C2 construction. This makes powder riding easy and more enjoyable for longer. At the same time, the rocker / camber combo carves easily and has mega grip thanks to the magne traction. The Hyper is Blake Paul's go-to board for the Natural Selection competition. *Magne traction, grip in all conditions *Sintered base, fast and absorbs wax well *super eco-friendly produced *instagram.com/blakepaul check this guy!
Type: Freeride/freestyle
Flex: 7 (out of 10)
Profile: C2X (Rocker)
To give the all-terrain boards a perfectly balanced profile, Lib Tech developed the C2 shape together with Travis Rice. A mild rocker between your feet with a powerful camber at the tip and tail. Enough pop for the park, precision for the best lines, and float to go wild in the powder. In the C2e variation, the profile is a bit more playful, and the C2x has even more precision.
Shape: Directional
A directional board has a nose that is longer than the tail of the snowboard, which provides more control on steep sections and less effort in the powder. The flex of the board is also asymmetrical, with the tail usually being stiffer for better turns and stability. The nose is often made less stiff, giving you better float. The inserts of the board are positioned more towards the tail, with the deviation indicated in inches (setback). Directional boards can be ridden left front and right front, but their strength lies in riding the preferred side.
Core: G3 Eco Construction
The G3 Eco core from Gnu is a mix of Aspen and Paulownia. With this core, you have a board that rides nicely stable and can create a lot of pop.
Topsheet fiberglass: Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax Fiber + Carbon Power Bands
The Tri-Ax fiberglass layer provides extra pop, and the Bi-Ax fiberglass layer ensures extra direct power transfer from the bindings to the steel edges. The Carbon Power Bands give long-lasting precision, control, and pop to the board.
Top: Bio Beans
Base: Sintered Knife-Cut
A sintered base gives you the best glide. Having to take off your bindings or walk on a path will happen much less because this base just wants to keep going. The base consists of small plastic pellets that are pressed together, leaving air between them where wax can get in. You will need to wax a sintered base more often because of this, but if you do it right, you will notice! Especially in warmer conditions, you will keep gliding, while a extruded base will create a vacuum that slows it down.
Sidewalls: UHMW
UHMW is one of the strongest thermoplastic plastics available right now. This means you don't have to repair your board every time you hit a box, rail, or skis.
Edge: Magne-Traction
If you've ever ridden on ice, you know how quickly you can lose control there. Magne-Traction cuts through ice and hard snow with 7 waves in the edge. Simply put, your edge bites into the ice instead of cutting, just like a serrated knife does in bread. But in normal snow on the slopes, it provides control and edge hold that gives you the confidence to maintain speed. You will especially feel this in turns where you put power in or during carving.
