Everything about the Gnu 4x4
Everything about the Gnu 4x4
The Gnu 4x4 is a powerful, versatile all-mountain snowboard with a C3 profile, Magne-Traction®, and a lightweight eco-friendly core, designed for creative, stable rides on any terrain.

Magne-Traction is a patented technology that creates wavy edges on snowboards for improved grip on icy and hard snow. These waves provide extra contact points that enhance stability and control.

With a sturdy flex of 6 to 7/10, the 4×4 is a real powerhouse: responsive at high speeds, rigid enough for carve intensity, but surprisingly tolerant and controllable on freestyle passages or switch riding. Careful testers recommend going slightly smaller than your standard size for extra maneuverability.
Discover the Gnu 4x4
The Gnu 4×4 is the result of a decade of design and snowboarding experience by the legendary freestyle carving rider Forest Bailey. This directional snowboard with a no-taper design is built to hold its own on any terrain. Whether you're carving tightly on ice, hitting side hits in the trees, or slicing lines through fresh powder — the 4×4 never backs down.
With a C3 camber profile that combines powerful camber zones under your feet with subtle rocker between the bindings, this board offers impressive stability, grip, and explosive pop. Perfect for experienced riders who love aggressive rides and precise edge control. The volume-shifted shape – with more surface area under the nose – aids in floatation in soft snow, without sacrificing control on hard surfaces.
The core is made from the lightweight, resilient G-Lite mix of Aspen and Paulownia wood, reinforced with bi-axial and triax fiberglass. This gives the board powerful responsiveness, durability, and surprising flexibility. The eco-sintered Knife Cut base ensures extreme speed and wax retention, while the UHMW sidewalls provide extra strength and abrasion resistance.
For edge control, Magne-Traction® edges are included, which bite into icy or hard snow thanks to seven strategically placed serrations. This allows you to maintain grip and confidence, even on challenging slopes. Riders report that edge-to-edge transitions feel smooth and that extreme turns are precisely manageable.
With a firm flex of 6 to 7/10, the 4×4 is a true powerhouse: responsive at high speeds, rigid enough for carve intensity, yet surprisingly forgiving and controllable on freestyle passages or switch riding. Careful testers recommend going slightly smaller than your standard size for extra maneuverability.
Built as a do-it-all board, the Gnu 4×4 is suitable for those who do not want to compromise on performance. Expect explosive pop, razor-sharp edges, accuracy at speed, and a shape that feels comfortable in both powder and on groomed runs. Perfect for the advanced snowboarder looking for one board that can handle every run—big lines or technical turns—effortlessly. In short: with the Gnu 4×4, you have a reliable, versatile, and stylish board that performs flawlessly in every situation.
